Shilton takes cues from a heritage material palette, reworked with contemporary restraint. Corridors are framed by fluted marble cladding at the base of columns, paired with warm brass fixtures and dark veined marble flooring inlaid in geometric detail. Interiors move into a softer register — blush-toned walls, textured plaster finishes, and arched thresholds that echo a colonial vocabulary without replicating it outright. The staircase becomes a material highlight in its own right, its terrazzo treads and speckled green terrazzo handrail curving continuously through the stairwell, framed by cast metal balustrades with a circular motif. Throughout, cladding and finish choices stay deliberately tactile — fluted stone, terrazzo, plaster — grounding the space in craft rather than surface polish.
